Activity Types Overview

Standard, Advanced, or Team Sport?

The first step when creating a new program is to create the “program” container itself. The activities available for customer registration will be built within this container. When you are setting up the program, you will need to know which type of activities the program will have. Once you have selected which type of activities you are using, you cannot change the activity types in that program, so it is helpful to understand, first, which type of activity will meet your needs.

Standard Activities are the default selection and most commonly used activity type. These activities work best if your program has one fixed price or a single date range from which to choose. The majority of programs fall under this activity type. Automated waitlists are an available feature on Standard Activities.

Standard Activities also have the option of creating teams and assigning coaches. See Team Sports Activity description for more options, if needed.

Advanced Activities allow the public to select days, weekly, or months specifically for registration, as well as different pricing options or time slots. This works well with activities like before/after-school childcare, summer camp, and personal training, which could result in a different roster for each day, week, or month.

Advanced Activities have the option of creating teams and assigning cocaches. See Team Sports Activity description for even more options, if needed.

Team Sports Activity is used for activities like soccer or softball leagues, where a team schedule is necessary, but may not have been set yet as you wait to registrations to know the number of teams required. This type includes the ability to create Round Robin game schedules and auto draft team members. This activity type allows you to wait until a set schedule is determined. Exact dates and times can be added at a later date.
