If you do not wish to work with MyRec.com's Design Specialist for their site customization, design elements (banner, background image, and/or email banner) can be managed by navigating to Administration > Custom Theme. These can be designed by your department/organization, or by a third party; as long as the files meet the following specifications, you're in good shape!

Design Tips
The banner and receipt banner heights listed are recommended, but these items can be taller if desired. We recommend the above heights to prevent pushing site and email content too far “below the fold.”
Background image dimensions and ratios are not critical, as the image will resize based on the size of the browser window used to view the page. We recommend using a high-resolution image that meets the minimum specifications above. For best results, background images should have a maximum opacity of 50%, as fully-opaque photos can heavily overpower the rest of the site content.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I can't see the Custom Theme option.
A: Check your user permissions. To access theme editing, the user must have Administrator-level permission set by someone who is already an Administrator in their system. If you do have Administrator access, you should see the Administration dropdown in the left-hand menu. If the Custom Theme option is not there, your site does not have the correct settings. Please contact us to have those settings enabled.
Q: I changed my banner/receipt banner/background image, but my site is still showing the old one.
A: Try performing a hard refresh in your browser! This usually does the trick. The old image is likely cached in your browser's memory, helping the site load faster; a hard refresh forces the browser to pull the most recent files from the server.
Q: Are there any fees associated with managing my own design elements?
A: Nope! Since the elements were created by you (or a third party), no design work was performed by MyRec.com – therefore, no fees! You can change your banner as many times as you'd like, as frequently as you'd like.
Q: How do I change the site colors?
A: Custom colors are available for any MyRec.com site, but we do require a signed waiver from your department to ensure that your department/organization is aware of WCAG 2.0 guidelines, and accepts responsibility for implementing them according to law. Please contact design@myrec.com for more info!
