Gift Certificates and Fund Accounts

MyRec.com recommends that all departments take advantage of the gift certificate product option as a way for customers to purchase account credit to use later for fee-based offerings with your department, even if you are not using the Store for any other purpose. You can even combine the gift certificate feature with promo codes to run specials, like holiday discounts, to increase off-season revenue and let users give the gift of recreation this year!

Gift Certificate Setup

Create Gift Certificate Category

1. Navigate to the Products menu on the leftside navigation bar
2. Click Product Categories
3. Click Add New Product Category at the top of the screen
4. Create a category called Gift Certificate
5. Keep Active and click Submit

Create Gift Certificate

1. Navigate to the Products page in the Products menu
2. Click Add New Product in the top right
3. Create a new product for each gift certificate denomination
   1. Suggestion: include the denomination in the title of the product i.e. $5 Gift Certificate
4. Enter price, category, tax, and status settings
5. Include a description if desired
6. Select gift certificate from the product type options
7. Uncheck Hide from Public to sell this on the public side
8. Assign the budget group
9. Add a photo for public side products
10. Click Submit

Redeem Gift Certificates

Public Side Redemption

Instructions for both the purchaser and the recipient are included on the printable gift certificate, which is emailed to the purchaser and also in the purchaser's account overview page.

1. The recipient will navigate to their account overview page
2. Click Redeem Gift Certificate in the Other Purchases column
3. Copy the gift certificate number to redeem from the gift certificate or from the purchaser's account
4. Paste into the field and submit
5. Gift certificate denominations will become account credit within the recipient's account

Management Side Redemption

1. Navigate to the purchaser's account overview page
2. Under Point of Sale, copy the gift certificate number to redeem
3. Navigate to the recipient's account detail page
4. Click Redeem Gift Certificate in the top right corner
5. Copy the gift certificate number to redeem from the gift certificate or from the purchaser's account
6. Paste into the field and submit
7. Gift certificate denominations will become account credit within the recipient's account

Fund Accounts

Fund Account POS products are used as a way to provide household credits to a user's account. It's important to note that this product does not allow Prompt for Price setup, so you will need to create a separate product for each denomination you would like the public to purchase.

Steps for Setup

1.  Go to the Products menu > Click Select Products
2.  Next, choose Add New Products in the upper right corner
3.  Name the product including the denomination in the title
4.  Enter the price/amount of credit in the price fee
5.  Select a Category
6.  Choose the tax setting
7.  Select the Fund Account radio button
8.  Check Hide from Public if desired
9. Add a photo if this will be sold on the public side
10.  Add a description if desired
11.  Select a Budget Group
12.  Click Submit

When purchasing a denomination to Fund your Account, the purchase price is automatically added to the household account credits associated with the purchaser. These cannot be gifted to another account, like the gift certificates, but instead are a way to add immediately accessible account credits to your own account.

1. Take a look at a household account credit balance
   1. Public side>Store>Camp Cash>add the $5 rec credit to cart>check out 
2. See the increase account credit now
