Eligibility and Requirements
HSA
- Approval depends on the type of services your department provides. HSA funds are generally intended for medical expenses.
- A medical necessity form is typically required. This means participants must provide documentation from a qualified professional stating the service is medically necessary. Your department must also maintain records of this documentation.
FSA / Flex Cards
- FSA funds are accessed by the customer using a flex card at checkout.
- Approval to accept flex cards depends on whether your services qualify as eligible expenses. Your department may be required to provide examples or documentation showing that your services meet eligibility requirements.
Determine Your Processor
If your department would like to accept HSA or FSA payments, this must be coordinated with your payment processor. Approval is not controlled within MyRec.com and depends on how your merchant account is set up as well as the types of services you provide.
Identify Your Payment Processor
- Log in to your management site
- Go to the Administration menu on the leftside navigation bar
- Click Settings
- Select the Subscriber Settings tab at the top
- Scroll to the Merchant Services section to identify your payment processor
- Reach out to the correct contact based on if you're using a 3rd Party Processor or MyRec.com Processing, as explained below
Departments Using MyRec.com Processing
If your Merchant Services section shows Fortis Payments, Priority Payments, or EVO Global, then your department is processing through MyRec.com.
In this case, our team can assist you with the approval process for accepting HSA and Flex cards. To get started, email merchantservices@myrec.com
Please include the following information:
- Your department name
- Whether you want to accept HSA, Flex cards, or both
- Examples of services you offer that may qualify
Departments Using a 3rd Party Processor
If your Merchant Services section shows 3rd party processor, your department will need to contact your payment processor directly to request approval for HSA and Flex card acceptance.
Authorize.net is a gateway, not the payment processor.
Authorize.net cannot approve HSA or FSA transaction acceptance. You will need to determine which company you are utilizing for your merchant processing account. This is typically the company that funds your business bank account.
If you are currently using a 3rd party processor and would like to explore switching to MyRec.com for payment processing and full merchant support, contact the Merchant Services team at merchantservices@myrec.com
